ALP Urban Farming Workshop for Science Teachers

09 March 2018

Our Science teachers spent a Friday afternoon out of our comfort zone to learn the basics of Urban Farming.

This workshop aims to equip our Science teachers with the content knowledge and skills to teach three basic lessons on Urban Farming to our students during their ALP lessons. The three basic lessons will start from Term 2 Week 2 onwards for all Secondary Two students. The lessons included Soil Science and The Creation of Soil in the Urban Context, Plant Physiology and Basic Propagation Techniques, and Organic Pest Control Techniques.

Alexius Yeo, our trainer from Carbon Inq. Pte. Ltd., conducted the workshop in a very engaging manner, complete with hands-on activities and sharing of his secret ‘recipes’ in mixing the perfect soil and making organic pesticides.

Our Science teachers had a fabulous time learning and bonding!
