Appeal Matters (===draft copy===)
School admissions are based on merit in the Secondary 1 Posting Exercise. Posting decisions are based on the objective and transparent measures of academic merit i.e. PSLE scores.
Appeals that take place after the S1 Posting Exercise must be aligned to these principles, in order to be fair to other admitted students.
Appeal in to CCHY (non-medical reasons)
Primary 6 students who have applied to Chung Cheng High School (Yishun) during MOE’s Secondary 1 Posting Exercise but are unsuccessful, may appeal to be considered for transfer to Chung Cheng High School (Yishun).
These students, appealing for admission to CCHY after the release of the Secondary 1 Posting Results, have to meet the school’s cut-off point.
Students who do not meet the cut-off point would not be eligible to appeal for admission.
For parents/guardians who would like to transfer your child to Chung Cheng High School (Yishun), please complete the School Transfer Application Form . All applications are subjected to review and assessment by the School.
Notes:
The personal information provided in this form will be solely used for the purpose of appealing for secondary school transfer based on non-medical reasons.
The deadline for the submission of appeals is on xx December 20xx, 5:00 pm. Late submission will not be allowed.
Schools do not disclose reasons for selection/non-selection of students.
Students should still report to the posted secondary school on xx January 20xx.
The application is deemed to be unsuccessful if you do not hear from the school by xx January 20xx.
Appeal in to CCHY (due to medical reasons)
You may appeal for a transfer if your child has a serious medical condition and you assess that the posted secondary school is unable to accommodate your child’s physical health.
For Appeal for school transfer due to medical conditions (serious medical conditions or severe physical impairments), please request through the posted school before 12:00 pm on xx December 20xx. The necessary documentations would be provided upon request.
Note:
Serious Medical Conditions. Students with persistent or serious illness e.g. chronic heart conditions, kidney problems. An official letter or medical report from a certified doctor must be attached to the application.
Severe Physical Impairments. Students with physical impairments, such as those requiring permanent use of a wheelchair. An assessment from qualified medical professional(s) of the student’s conditions and needs should be submitted. The assessment should clearly describe the extent of impairments (temporary/ permanent) and the type of assistive device that the student is currently using (e.g. use of a wheelchair).
